Becoming a drug addict is simple but stop taking drugs is a problem. My advice is not being involved in to drugs at all
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. We have to know ourselves enough to know when we need help instead of resorting to drugs
DeleteWhat about those who ignore such content on social media and continue with the use of drugs just for the sake of feeling good
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good question. II believ that you need to decide to change in order for you to change. No one can force you to make positive changes in your life unless you make the choice.
DeleteI think governments should enforce stiffer laws on drug access. That way the abuse if them will reduce as there is no easy access
ReplyDeleteIt is true but even when people know something is illegal they still do it. We just have to make the right choices.
DeleteEnforcement can help to some extent but can never be enough to curb the drug abuse crisis. The human mind is a beautiful but dangerous thing, the way addicts can be innovative is mind blowing. We have people using things such as, ARVs, sanitary pads, traditional plants, diarrhea meds, even lcd flat screens to get high. Obviously you can't ban all those. We have to make as much noise as possible on the harmful effects of drug abuse, how it destroys lives, financial burden, damage relationships, social impact etc. For that 15year old who is about to experiment, sometimes it just takes a voice to say "don't" and they stop
DeleteThat is very true. Good communication, having a good support system and looking at the type of friends or people that influence us are some of the things we can do to help minimize the use of drugs.
DeleteDrug is a serious issue in our society, while government are encouraging youngsters and everyone to use it publicly. I think the should enforce on how it can destroy people's health and minds.
ReplyDeleteWe must continue to make as much noise as we can so that people don't normalise harmful behaviours
DeleteDrugs are silent killers and yet nobody seems to take the issue seriously plus the government is encouraging it. Something must be done fast before all hope is lost
ReplyDeleteWe cannot and we shouldnts lose hope but do whatever we can to help save lives. Even at the end of the day we end up saving 1 life we have done our part in educating people to stop using drugs
DeleteI personally do not approve of drugs as those taking it, take it in public and some of us who do not do drugs end up inhaling it.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite annoying but that is the society we're currently living in. We just must continue to educate peopep about drugs
DeleteA sad reality indeed, we are at risk of losing a whole generation. Lets educate and help each other take a stand, say no to drugs. Some however become addicts, not by choice but by circumstance. Prescription painkillers, effective but expensive and the alternative? They turn to heroine, cannabis -cheaper pain relievers, easily get hooked and a life goes down the drain.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is why it is important to really look at your circle and never succumb to anything you're not comfortable with.
DeleteI think in order to also have successful campaigns research on what causes people to be involved in drugs should be identified. At-least tackling the problem from its roots would create more and more successful awareness campaigns. Also educating people and showing them what happens to drug addicts would help quite a lot.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a good idea...the "why" helps figure out what is making people use drugs. We all have a role to play in order to stop drug abuse
DeleteThe rate which drug is been abuse is getting high . I hope something can be done as soon as possible to stop it
ReplyDeleteSomething can be done when we start to initiate change by finding out what is making people get themselves in these addictive lifestyles. Let's be the change we want to see
DeleteDo you think that we should count the government as part of the problem solving?? Because in one hand campaigns against drug usage are being raised almost everyday while in the other hand the South African government is legalizing marijuana
ReplyDeleteI guess we can say so partially however, people have been abusing drugs way before the government legalised them and they did that under cover. People know what is right and wrong and they still do whatever they want. The government just makes it harder for people campaigning against the abuse to drugs to have successful results because people will argue about why they have to stop when the government approves. we shouldn't give up though
ReplyDeleteIn as much as marijuana has a high abuse potential it is also important to remember its use medically. Cannabis pharmaceutical formulations are the medicines of the future and are gaining popularity. Its considered safer and more efficacious compared to opioids. The plant is very useful in conditions such as cancer (for pain), glaucoma, controversially psychosis etc. By legalizing marijuana its a way of opening doors for research on the plant and its effects however loopholes just like in any system can lead to it being sold on the streets. I guess the word legalizing is a bit misleading but the move is not all bad, due to the effects of drugs like heroine, codeine, basically opioids in general the world is slowly moving away from those and adopting cannabis formulations instead and if Africa does not move with the world we`ll soon become a dumping site for all those harmful drugs.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is people taking advantage of the system because even cough syrups are getting abused. We never realise the importance of these legalised drugs until it is too late because they won't work when we need them to. However, thank you for educating me on the topic of drugs.
ReplyDeleteIt’s sad that people feel the need to do drugs in order to escape the hardships of life
ReplyDeleteYes, we all need to ask for help when we are go through the most.
